APEX INTEGRITY INSPECTIONS conducts in-service inspections—also known as external inspections—while tanks remain operational or when internal access is not possible. These inspections involve a detailed visual assessment of the tank’s exterior to identify leaks, shell distortion, settlement, corrosion, and the condition of coatings, insulation, and appurtenances.

Typically performed every five years, these inspections may occur more frequently for tanks exposed to aggressive or corrosive environments. Using advanced ultrasonic thickness testing tools—both manual and robotic—APEX accurately monitors corrosion rates and determines appropriate inspection intervals.

In line with API 653 standards, these inspections ensure the tank’s mechanical integrity, operational safety, and early detection of degradation. The data collected also supports proactive maintenance strategies to minimize the risk of failure and environmental impact.
